Semi-active and active technologies are also included
to show, where pure passive ones cannot be used (today).
Passive non-contact technologies for sensing, identification
and data communications are well established with respect
to the technologies used.
However, these technologies are insufficiently deployed
in many areas and applications of significant technological
and economic benefits especially within SMEs.
